Microsoft is automatically upselling subscriptions when renewing, but not telling consumers. This leads to Australians paying more for Microsoft 365 renewals than they would otherwise need to.
It appears that the subscription renewal price has been increased to $159 (was $109) for Microsoft 365 Personal, and $179 (was $139) for Microsoft 365 Family. However, what is happening is Microsoft is bundling CoPilot into the new subscription, and not telling or asking consumers if they want it. Then only when you cancel, you get offered your previous subscription at the old price.
It’s quite scummy actually. I doubt any Microsoft 365 users actually have a need for CoPilot.
